Civil War Living History Festival
Winner of the 2016 Wisconsin Historical Society Public Program Award. This community festival features activities for all ages. Activities being at 7am with a pancake breakfast at the Community House in North Goodrich Park. Guests are invited to wander the park and Milton House grounds as they interact with Civil War era soldiers and civilians camped out for the weekend. (Visitors may even find themselves face to face with General Grant or President Lincoln) The encamped company will provide canon fire demonstrations throughout the day. Saturday’s festivities will conclude with a concert in Goodrich Park.
**Please be advised, some reenactors will use period accurate language or describe historical events during their special performances that may be inappropriate for younger audiences. The presentations that feature frank, period accurate discussions of slavery will be noted on the program schedule. Parents and guests are asked to use their discretion.

Milton Historical Society Membership Picnic
Hosted by the Milton Historical Society Board of Directors, this potluck dinner is open to all who would like to attend. Dinner is followed by a brief, informal presentation (TBD at this time)

Milton Historical Society 43rd Annual Arts and Crafts on the Lawn
Milton’s famous community festival. Held in conjunction with the MACC Chicken BBQ and Gathering Place’s Concert in the Park, visitors of all ages will find something special when they join us in Milton. The Milton House Grounds will showcase over 80 authentic arts and crafts vendors at our juried craft show. After enjoying some Chicken BBQ and taking in the concert at the park, guests are invited to join us inside the Milton House for an Ice Cream Social and Craft Raffle. (All proceeds from raffle will benefit the Milton House Museum) The Milton House will also offer special reduced rate admissions to those who would like to take a tour of the Milton House National Historic Landmark.
Saturday, September 16th (7pm – 10pm)
Twilight Tours of the Milton House & Northleaf Winery Wine & Chocolate Tastings
Cost: $5 per admission
OPTIONAL: $10 additional for wine tasting (21 years and older), $5 for chocolate only
Visitors to the Milton House will discover what the hotel would have looked like to traveler in 1854. Guests will be guided on a special twilight “reenactment tour” of the Milton House Inn. After being welcomed by Milton’s founding father Joseph Goodrich, visitors will check in to the stagecoach inn and observe the comings and goings of the hotel as it was in 1854.
Event goers will likewise witness the secrets the inn held as it served as a station on the Underground Railroad. While on tour, guests will meet members of the Goodrich family, other stagecoach passengers and some prominent Miltonians as they make their way through. Most importantly, those on tour will interact with one of the most significant of the Goodriches’ guests- an escaped slave seeking shelter at the Milton House on her path to freedom.
Before or after their tour, guests 21 and over are invited to attend a Wine and Chocolate pairing presented by Northleaf Winery.
Tours run from 7pm to 10pm and will embark from the museum’s main lobby every 15 minutes.
Twilight Tour is conducted by candle light. Due to the nature of the event, we encourage parental discretion for those under 13 years old.

Creative Outlets Theater's Production of A Christmas Carol
Cost: $12 admission
The timeless Charles Dickens’ tale comes alive as those attending will follow this “traveling” production through the Milton Historical Society grounds. A portion of the plays’ proceeds will benefit the Milton House Museum and Milton Historical Society.
